What is eMINTS?

eMINTS-4-Utah began through an EETT (Enhancing Education Through Technology) Grant in 2003. The eMINTS-4-Utah project recreates the Missouri eMINTS instructional model from the eMINTS National Center (high quality teaching powered by technology) in more than 60 classrooms in eight urban and rural school districts - Granite, Salt Lake City, Ogden, Duchesne, Tintic, Provo, Logan and Unitah. Visit the eMINTS-4-Utah website for more information.

The eMINTS-4-Utah Resource Center is a collection of training materials and resources that compliment the eMINTS professional development model. These materials are organized using MyEDesk and are available FREE to anyone -- anywhere! If you would like information about participating in eMINTS-4-Utah please contact Rachel Murphy, rachel.murphy@granite.k12.ut.us.

In Granite School district, 55 classroom teachers have completed or are currently completing the eMINTS program. Participation in the eMINTS program is a time intensive program with many rewards. Teachers complete 175 hours of after-school training over a two year time frame with a stipend, particpate in 9 professional learning full days, and recieve the following classroom equipment: computers at a ratio of one computer per two students, color laserjet printer, scanner, digital camera, and a ceiling mounted projecter. While most teachers become interested in the program because of the equipment they recieve, in the end the teaching strategies learned and the classroom support received is what makes eMINTS beneficial!
